From 9-5 I am a Social Media Marketer, and if you’re a fan of this blog, you know that I have 2 passions in life: social media and travel. And thanks to my day job and being able to run this blog, I can do both! Below is a post I wrote for the company I work for and thought it was a fun topic to share here, too. Enjoy!

I have a lot to be thankful for:

  1. I get to work with the best team in Digital Marketing (I’m not biased, I swear).
  2. My job’s Headquarters is located in the most charming, magnificent city in the world (I am 100% biased, I swear).

Because we are based in Charleston, South Carolina, I thought it would be fun to share with everyone on the interwebs a little piece of Charleston, and therefore, a little piece of The Modern Connection. Our home is an integral part of who we are. Since we are a social media agency, I thought it appropriate to share the most Instagram-worthy spots in town! These photos were taken by our Modern Connection team at lovely spots around Charleston. Even on our days off, we are still obsessed with social media.

Goodnight, Charleston 🌛

Historic Plantations

My boss and entrepreneur powerhouse, Ashley Caldwell recently strolled the breathtaking gardens at Magnolia Plantation. There are many plantations in the Charleston area, it’s hard to pick a favorite!

Oak-Lined Roads of the Lowcountry

One more because I’m obsessed 😍

Whether it’s at historic Boone Hall (Where they filmed parts of The Notebook and Forrest Gump!) or driving through Johns Island, lush oak-lined roads are an excellent photo opp for you and your friends.

Holy City Skyline

They don’t call us the Holy City for nothin’! Charleston may not have a metropolis skyline, but it’s hard not to fall in love with our quaint, historic skyline filled with churches. Some even dating before the Revolutionary War!

The Ravenel Bridge

I think the #ravenelbridge looks most stunning in Black & White ▫️▪️▫️▪️

Chances are, when you visit Charleston you’re going to drive over the Ravenel Bridge. It’s one of the most scenic bridges in the Southeast and looks just as stunning at night as it does in the daylight. Although, I think the bridge looks most handsom in black & white.

Hi, I'm Chelse! I am a Digital Nomad obsessed with traveling the world and seeking adventure beyond the 9-5 office life. When I turned 25 I decided that I was going to stop making excuses and do what I've always dreamed. I went from having 0 stamps in my passport to 15+ countries in one year. I encourage anyone who wants to live a Digital Nomad lifestyle to buy the ticket first, and figure out the rest later!

  1. Googled and found you pretty nice places to visit in Charleston and I will, but what I enjoyed most was reading your small bio at the bottom. It’s a little reminder for someone like me who’s heading in the direction to know it’s ok to do so. Thanks!!
